Blog two: Theme Presentations

Our three groups each did presentations on different topics to explain why voting in our elections are important. Group three started off with healthcare and education. The first step topic they talked about was free healthcare/changes in healthcare policies. Having free healthcare allows patients to have all the same level care and they do not have to pay money for health care. A downside to having free healthcare is an increase in taxes by an estimated 20%. changes in healthcare policies are made at both the federal level and by Congress and by healthcare agencies. Individuals can affect the change by voting in midterm elections. another topic that was discussed with psychotherapy. Psychotherapy is a way to help people by Positivity changing their emotions, thoughts and actions during life’s difficulties. It also controls or cures various mental illnesses without the need of drugs or medication. Having access to a psychological therapist helps to cure depres...

For our theme project, we had to do a couple of things. We had the option of picking from six subtopics. These subtopics were law and order -protests/rallies, education, health care, immigration, racial divides, and economy. T he topics listed are all super important to talk about and to bring awareness to. I am glad that we had the freedom and opportunity to choose from these major topics. These are topics that everyone should have some degree of education on or awareness. The group presentations were highly educational and I think I can speak for everyone when I say it all taught us something. My group and I did a great job in organizing what everyone was going to talk about in our agenda and we did the study guide with no problem. Isabella did an amazing job with all the technology related things. The brochure was easy to do as well. These group presentations help us communicate better and have stronger organizational skills. It also provides us with skill...

Our Election Matters            Having midterm elections around the corner means that Americans will have to decide on who they want to elect as members of congress and governors. As the day approaches on the 8th of November, many Americans will cast their vote for their candidates of preference. Importantly, many issues such as health care, education, law and order, immigration, racial divide, and the economy are amongst the topics of interest for most. One issue of interest to most Americans in this time of year is inflation, with fears that we may head into a recession. Another issue most Americans are concerned and worried about is the open border policy that President Joe Biden has been in favor for since being appointed president. Often times we have heard of the movement of 'defunding the police,' and while many support it, a great amount of other Americans are against it. Having crime also be an important factor in this midterm elec...

Our Election Matters Presentation

Jose Escobedo Our Election Matters      With the midterm elections that have recently occurred in the United States, several issues have been presented as important issues, issues that can make or break a voter's mind. Health, education, law and order, immigration, the racial divide, economy -- these are just some of the issues that many voters have been most concerned about. And while the election results are still ongoing at the time of this writing, many voters look on with anxiety, awaiting to see which candidate will win and what changes will these candidates bring about. Because of the past couple of controversial elections, including the Presidential election of 2020 where Americans stand more divided than ever, our country could be deeply impacted by whichever candidate and whichever political party wins the local elections, the state elections, and the House and the Senate on Congress. Group 3: Health and Education A group of doctors, nurses, and other h...
