Communication is a valuable and critical strategy in our daily lives. As humans being, we must communicate with one another to pass a different point of view of information regarding many things that may be of interest. If communication didn’t exist we wouldn’t know how to understand the messages of other individuals. I believe that this class has made me realize how important it exchanges words in return for information with other people. As an example, I am a very open person, but I will and must say that communicating with other people is quite a challenge at first, especially those who do not know to have a conversation with others individuals. Having a project like this one was relatively nothing new all due to past experience in high school having to present to others in class or online. Nevertheless, I learned in addition that while communicating is critical, working together is also very important because it increases work performance and improves your overall speech.

The first presentation that was introduced in class was Chapter 3: Intercultural Communications. This group presented very well and with some material that were straightforward and organized. I appreciate the information that was well-specified on the day of the presentation. I can also relate to this topic because it has to do with different cultures, ethnic, and backgrounds. Cultures have components and elements that build their character. These components are symbols, language, beliefs, and artifacts that are acquired, used, and shared by the member of the group of people in their daily lives. For example, coming from a Spanish-speaking heritage, I can relate because I have parents from two different countries. Culture is naturally developed within a group of people in a society and it's the set of all beliefs, values, standards, and morals shared amongst the group of people. Communication is essential in passing knowledge between people, whether it's your feelings or your points of view on a particular subject. Nonetheless, there can be difficulties when it comes to communication between different cultures, especially if they counter in characteristics such as language, customs, religion.  In my opinion, the group presenters did a very good job explaining the importance of communication across many different cultures.

The second presentation that was introduced in class was Chapter 9: Communication in groups. As you noticed chapter nine was all about group communication. I was a part of this group and saw how we each did our parts of the presentation and how everything started to come together as a team. I liked how in our presentation everyone took the time to learn and analyze their topics and become proficient enough to explain them to the class. Besides being very educational I think the way each of my classmates illustrated and explained each of their slides and some of them also used graphs or illustrations helped not only educate but was entertaining at the same time. The presentation would not have been complete without the videos and pictures that were shown in our PowerPoint. These small details are what make the presentation extraordinary. Overall, I enjoyed the presentation and thought there was a nice balance between text, images, and videos. The videos themselves were pleasant to watch with each video demonstrating an example of a group and the communication between each members.

The third presentation that was introduced in class was Chapter 10: Leadership and Problem Solving.  Leadership represents an individual that impacts other people to achieve a goal together. With this chapter, I understood about a lot of different leadership roles and the presenter did an excellent job of explaining in depth how each role relates to a real-life situation. I appreciate how this group used lots of videos and diagrams throughout the whole presentation to manage their information and keep things amusing. They discussed many useful tips such as how to resolve problems that occur within a group. They also talk about how to effectively participate in a meeting and tips on how to process the most information in the best ways such as taking notes, listening attentively, and reviewing decisions. Another leadership responsibility has to do with meetings. A leader must be adequate within meetings, prepare an agenda, and maintain collaboration between the leader and his team members. They showed many ways how to prepare before a meeting and better process the information and study it after a meeting. Overall, the presentation was very well done. I learned that in a group presentation, dividing and sharing responsibilities, comprehending the goal, and creating the presentation together are important. There was good videos that explained the point of each section in a brief manner along with clear pictures and text and each presenter talked about each point in a great amount of detail.
